The Framingham Heart Study (served on site as director of data management and analysis).

The Honolulu Heart Program (served on site as director of data management and analysis).

The Yugoslavia Cardiovascular Diseases Study (American Principle Investigator).

The Multiple Risk Factor Intervention Trial (served on the design and analysis committee and on the special data monitoring committee).

Established laboratory quality control system for the Framingham Heart Study.

Developed risk assessment models based on the Framingham Heart Study (used by outside organizations, including the AHA and industry as a basis for risk assessment instruments).

Managed computer and data management and analysis systems the Framingham Heart Study, the Honolulu Heart Program, and the Yugoslavia Cardiovascular Diseases study.

Developed computer software for statistical analysis (including logistic regression) used widely prior to the development of commercial packages.

Analyzed and published results from clinical, laboratory, and epidemiologic studies of cardiovascular disease.

Formed new unit: prepared needs assessment, hired staff and procured equipment. Developed software, including a much-requested program to conduct logistic regression on the PC. Analyzed and published results from studies of injury prevention and control.

Senior Statistician and Director, Agent Orange Projects, Center for Environmental Health, Centers for Disease Control, Atlanta, Georgia.

Directed $75-million research project. Recruited staff, procured space and equipment, prepared reports and budgets for both CDC and other agencies. Analyzed and published data from the studies into the health effects of Agent Orange.
